About Albania
Albania
Albania, more precisely the Republic of Albania, is one of the countries about which you can already read quite a lot on the Internet, including from Slovak tourists. In addition to these facts and opinions, we will be happy to present it to you from our point of view and experience.
You can find general information here: https://sk.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albánsko
Do you know that feeling when you find yourself in a certain place and your intuition whispers to you that you will definitely return here? In Albania, it is certain that you will experience it. This pearl of the Balkans is so breathtaking.
How would we at I am Albania describe it? As a safe, hospitable country, proud of its origin, in places full of paradoxes that serve us for a long time as topics for events in the circle of friends, but also as a country of kind-hearted people eager to indulge you in all the tastes of Albania in a too short time.
Albania as an opportunity?
Yes, yes, and yes again. It is incredible how Albania has changed before our eyes in the last 10 years. These changes will increase and you have a chance to be a part of it. A development company from the Arab world is heading to the country. It is EMAAR from the United Arab Emirates, which plans to build one of the largest tourist ports on the Adriatic with an estimated value of 2 billion euros.
The transformation of the current large-capacity cargo and ferry port into a zone of recreation, trade and housing will be spectacular and will attract many investors and tourists from all over the world. Will you be one of them? The answer is of course yes!
With one major difference. We at I am Albania bring you the opportunity to participate in the rapid development of Albania and even profit from it. Therefore, do not hesitate to contact us.

I'm going to a Muslim country after all, right?
The official religion of the population is predominantly Islam. There is only one thing that is strange about it. That your idea about the restrictions regarding women's wardrobe, the prohibition of alcohol and pork consumption or other restrictions will disappear with the initial contact with the Albanian land. You will feel comfortable and satisfied very quickly.
There is a rule to which the inhabitants proudly declare: "We are Albanians first, then Muslims or Christians."
During his visit to Albania in 2014, Pope Francis highlighted the coexistence of these people who believe in other religions as a model for all countries of the world.
Do I relax by the sea and go home?
If you are a fan of this type of vacation, we will gladly indulge you, but let us motivate you to experience much more.
The rich history is reminded by many castles, old stone villages rising on peaks along the coast of the whole country. Their atmosphere is complemented by relatively well-preserved bazaars, where locals still offer handmade products such as carpets, tablecloths, traditional clothes and others. Visit with us 2000-year-old cities such as Berat, Kruja, Gjirokaster, Lezha.
Since two-thirds of Albania is a mountainous country, you will be able to enjoy spectacular views, admire national parks with clear river flows (Theth, Valbona, Tropoja). Float the rivers or let a boat take you between the canyons, feel the effects of natural mineral springs and even go skiing. "Shqiperia", as the natives of Albania call it, is a land of unlimited possibilities, and you will have the desire to explore it for the hundredth time.
Taste grows with food.
And we mean that literally. Nowadays, a gastronomic experience is not only what tastes great, but also food prepared from high-quality, fresh and homemade food. Tomatoes, peppers, tangerines, figs, melons, grapes, oranges, cheeses, wine, brandy, olive oil...
From home production directly to restaurants and local bars. You can find traditional Albanian dishes literally on every corner. All this is complemented by seaside, Italian and European cuisine. You will definitely not go hungry and your wallet will definitely be happy too. Prices in Albania are half to two thirds lower than in Slovakia.
For a holiday destination just over an hour's flight from Slovakia, that's good news, what do you say?
